Moyes on West Ham interest: I’m staying at Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad manager David Moyes has struggled in his first year with the Basque club but the Scotsman is not about to leave the club as the former Manchester United and Everton dismissed rumours over a possible summer move to take over at West Ham, insisting that his work and his plans remain in San Sebastian.

In his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s match against relegation-battling Levante, Moyes admitted that his side has struggled against lower level sides and are still trying to find consistency.

Near the end of the presser, in light of his comments that the team has not found that consistency with the 52-year-old in charge and his recent comments that he will one day return to the Premier League, Moyes was asked about rumours linking him as the favourite for the job at West Ham United and if he will be cutting short his contract with the Basque side a year early, to which Moyes categorically denied.

“Can I 100% guarantee that I’ll stay with the club? Yes.

“I think that there will always be people looking for these things, but as I’ve said before, my work and my plans are to stay here and that’s not changed, I’ve always said the same.”

Klopp and Howe have never been quoted as saying they don't want the job, have they?

Fraser, they may not have been directly quoted, but it has been widely reported, possibly leaked and not denied?

This is the Mirror re Klopp, Howes is already on another thread further down the page.

No evidence anywhere that says they've even been offered the job let alone turned it down.

All three would never take it for various NON-West Ham reasons.

But I'm sure we'll bitch about it anyway.

Moyes was the only realistic one of the 3 anyway, and now it looks like he is staying put, thankfully.

I'm getting towards the point now that if we can't get Bilic we may as well just stick with the oaf, god help us.

Out boards reputation in football circles is not one that will necessarily attract good coaches

Re: Klopp, Howe now Moyes turn West Ham down
Does anyone seriously take any notice of what any potential manager is reported as saying?

How many people whilst in a job would say anything other than that they were fully committed to their current role?

The pre-employment firm denials are as predictable as the post appointment quotes.

`I've always been a huge admirer of the club`.

`Masses of potential`.

`Great discussions with the owners`.

`Investment in the team to move forward`

`Always seen this club as a sleeping giant`

Blah, blah, blah...

It’s a pretty stupid question to ask in the first place, especially to someone who is currently managing another side and the season hasn’t even finished, the answer was always going to be NO, 100% in football means absolutely fuck all.

Private Dancer 6:59 Fri May 1
Re: Klopp, Howe now Moyes turn West Ham down
Sydney - It means absolutely fuck all just because you say so, or do you have evidence to back that up?

Moyes could have had come out with the usual garbge like 'I have a contract here and unless I'm told otherwise I will continue to work here' but instead he has said that he will stay there 100%. He didn't have to say that. Now Moyes seems like a man with a lot of integrity, so if he is saying that then I would say that he intends to stay in Spain. Let's see.

Re: Klopp, Howe now Moyes turn West Ham down
I get your point PD but time and again you see a player or manager say how committed they are (and rightly so they should be) and then bang, there off, so to ask them towards the end of a busy season if they have intentions of moving is only going to get one response if there professional, even if they are looking or in negotiations, although Moyes as you quite rightly pointed out has seemed to go out of his way to ram it home that he is staying in Spain as its not just us he is being linked with, Newcastle particularly so I would imagine he would want it put to bed and be left alone if he has made his mind up 100%

Re: Klopp, Howe now Moyes turn West Ham down
Anything is possible, of course it is, but I'd rather not basically accuse Moyes of being a liar, which esentially is what it is doing. If he says 100% staying then I would tend to believe him. But other factors could come into it.

Also with Moyes, after what happeend to him at Man Uttd, he knows that there won't be any of the big boys caling anytime soon, and I'm not convinced that ourselves or Newcasle are a big enough pull for him to pull the plug on Spain and let down his owners there, but then again maybe they are not too fussed if he goes.

Moyes doesn't appear to be a fickle chopper and changer . If Ferguson was still about Moyes would still be at Everton

It's looking like the Allardyciples were right

There is not a single manager in world football who would be interested in moving to London, managing in the Premierleague, being the 13th highest paid manager in the world and taking a team into the Olympic stadium.

Looks like we should be grateful to have the fat oaf then.

Well I for one am pleased the boring dour Ginge won't come.

Howe didn't turn us down though - but I suspect he would.

Klopp was always unlikely

None of these not coming is a big deal and in Moyes case brilliant news. There are loads of managers that would come though so let's not worry too much.

*remembers who the owners are*
